Weekly Information

Our Routine

Gym will be every Thursday. Full PE kit is required. This includes a plain t-shirt (or sports day colours), black shorts or sports trousers and plimsolls/trainers. Children are required to wear full PE kit for safety precautions. We ask that the children wear their PE kit to school on their allocated PE day.

Homework

 We will set homework every Friday via the end of week letter on dojo and expect the homework to be completed by the following Friday.

Reading 

Every child has been given a reading dairy. Please write comments in the diary every time you read with your child at home. In year 1, we expect this to be a minimum of 3 times a week. The teaching staff will also write comments in your dairy. This is a brilliant way to communicate and to discuss how your child is getting on with their book!

Please bring your reading books every day as we will be reading with the children at every opportunity.

Snack

• Please can your child bring in a fruit snack every day. Please ensure that grapes and cherries are cut into quarters and blueberries are cut into halves. We ask that the children bring in fruit only, not cereal bars, yoghurts etc.
• Please can your child bring a reusable water bottle to school every day.

Weekly Information

P.E  -will be on a Wednesday. Children can wear their PE kits to school. A PE kit consists of a white or team coloured t-shirt, black shorts, tracksuit bottoms or leggings and trainers.

Book bags are encouraged to be brought into school daily – We ask that you spend a little bit of time each day looking at the books, discussing them and reading them together. We will try to hear your child read at least once a week in school. Please let us know when your child has finished reading their book by writing in their reading record. You can also tell us the words they found tricky and how well they read. 

Library books that the children choose themselves will also come home to promote reading for enjoyment. Please share these books together as research shows that listening to stories being read to them regularly improves their success in life.

Snack –Pupils are encouraged to bring a piece of fresh fruit into school every day for snack time along with a reusable bottle of water which they have access to throughout the day.
